Southern Style Boiled Custard

The weekend before Christmas, I made a small batch just to "shake off the rust."

Here's what I made for Christmas.  I made almost two gallons of boiled custard in all.  I used about 40 eggs:  25 egg yolks and 15 whole eggs.  Later, I will add the recipe I followed.

My husband is still drinking it.  Rich & delicious.

Salmon Dinner

This is bacon-wrapped.  We much preferred it without the bacon.

Thai Fried Rice

I put shrimp in the fried rice, along with a lot of veggies.  And the sauce on the side,...I made it.  Ingredients for it are fish sauce, garlic, lime juice, chili and cilantro.  It's common to see this condiment on tables in Thailand - at restaurants, and in homes.  You just add some to any dish, if you want to add some flavor.

We packed some up for a neighbor.

Moo Wan (Sweet Pork)

Thais often use pork belly for Moo Wan.  It's what I did this time.  We eat it with rice and other dishes.  In this case, I added it to grits.  It was very delicious.  Here's one recipe for Moo Wan.
