Meat & Cheese, Please

We have been trying more and more charcuterie boards at various wine bars and cocktail lounges in Asheville.  They also are served up at my brother-in-law's, when we go over there.  The other day we bought a board at Bed, Bath & Beyond, and I have started created my own.  This was my first attempt.

Fruit & Cookies

Those are green tea cookies.  I have made several batches.  Everybody seems to love them!

Spooky Times

I made this Spooky Cake last Halloween.  It's a three-layer vanilla cake with chocolate, orange and vanilla buttercream.

Homemade Granola

 

I then put this into some plastic containers.  It keeps a long time.

Veggies & Hummus

 

We snacked on this tray all day.  Just get you some fresh veggies and some tasty hummus. 

Boiled Custard

Let it chill, pour some in a bowl, then add some of your favorite fruits.  Less guilt this way!  My husband drinks it by the glass.

Another Round

My same Raspberry Champagne Cake, but with strawberries on top!  This one I was able to make and assemble pretty quickly because the main parts were made around Christmas, then frozen.  I only had to make some fresh whipped cream and purchase the strawberries.  It was as good as the one we had on Christmas - really better, since I combined the Sabayon cream with the whipped cream.  It gave the white exterior a hint of yellow.

Fruit Salad Medley

I made this simple fruit salad for a football watching party.  I used more oranges to make a little juice "dressing" for this medley.
